A Proud Day for Farida Laeeq as She Receives Her British Empire Medal

Everyone at Brownlow Health is celebrating alongside Farida Laeeq, who has officially received her British Empire Medal (BEM) in recognition of her outstanding work supporting refugees, asylum seekers and ethnically diverse communities across Liverpool.

Farida's journey is one of resilience, compassion and service. Drawing on her own experience as a refugee, she has dedicated herself to helping others find support, opportunity and a sense of belonging during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Over the last four years, Farida has become a trusted advocate for those navigating healthcare, housing, education and employment, supporting more than 1,100 people every year. Her work has helped break down barriers, build confidence and create stronger connections between communities and services.

For those who know Farida, this award comes as no surprise. Her kindness, empathy and determination shine through in everything she does, and she is deeply respected by colleagues, partners and the people she supports.

Today marks a particularly special moment as Farida receives the medal she so richly deserves.

Congratulations, Farida. We are incredibly proud of you and grateful for the difference you make every single day.
