Where to find us

Our dedicated Student Health practice is based on the University of Liverpool campus, behind the guild, and provides dedicated student health services. All students from other universities are able to use this service. LJMU students may be nearer to our Brownlow Health @ Marybone practice.

About us

Brownlow Health NHS is a family of four practices, based across 7 sites in and around Liverpool city centre.

We work closely with the local universities, and the wider university welfare network, including hall wardens, tutors, international students services, career guild officers and university counselling services.

Why choose Brownlow Health as a student?

  • We specialise in student health needs. Brownlow Health runs a dedicated Student Health Centre, providing weekday access all year round.                                                        

  • Flexible access to multiple sites. Students registered with Brownlow Health can use any of our Liverpool city centre practices depending on what's convenient.                                      

  • Evening and weekend appointments are also sometimes available.                                       

  • Enhanced Access offers additional appointment times at our practices or nearby NHS services.

General Medical Care

As a full‑service NHS GP practice, we provide day‑to‑day medical support including diagnosis, ongoing care, vaccinations, mental health support, and long‑term condition management.

We also host a sports physiotherapy clinic and a psychology service.

Vaccinations

Are your vaccinations up to date?

We offer free HPV, Meningitis ACWY and MMR vaccinations.

Health and Wellbeing coaches

Our Health and Wellbeing Coaches are here to support you in creating personalised plans to manage your health, including stress, weight, diabetes, physical activity, healthy eating and pain management.

Saturday clinics are sometimes available.

Online Health Support

You can get online medical advice, make administrative requests, or use online services such as repeat prescriptions and health record access via the NHS app or Patient Access.

Accessibility and Facilities

We provide step‑free access, wheelchair access, and disabled WC facilities at our Student Health Centre.

Opening hours for Student Health (term-time)

Monday–Friday: 8:00am–6:30pm Wednesday, closed from midday on the last Wednesday of the month 

Weekends: Closed

Outside of term time you can visit us at one of our other sites, so you always have access to Brownlow Health during the core opening hours.
